ST: Nemesis, The Phaser That Saved And Ended It All

He saved his captain, his ship, our earth, the Federation,
and the ideals they all stand for.

In his hand, the phaser that did it all.

Used by Data (Brent Spiner)

Scene: Data's Sacrifice

Star Trek: Nemesis

History of the prop

This prop is a static (no light function) piece.  Why static when there is a scene of when Data enters the Remen bridge and the phaser is all lit up?  While director Stuart Baird decided to go with impact by simplicity for the journey’s end sequence, there were many other version’s of Data’s death shot.  There were some more violent sequences shot where the phaser prop was thrown, flung, or ripped out of his hand, or he fell over and it fell out of his hand, etc, etc to dramatize the explosion.

Pictures of the actual prop and an update to the information of where I found it to follow
