Kamishima has a talent! Hi friends! I finally showed my face to you all. :) I hope you find me cute. At least I think Inés does, or she wouldn't take care of me. This makes me remember of when I changed homes, and I was sad departing from my elder friend, but now I hear we might be getting a new terrapin YOUNGER than me I am thrilled, because I will have a friend, and I will be the OLDEST!Anyway, not only that, but Inés has found my talent. It is one she doesn't have, mwahahaha. xDWell, she was practicing the flute the other day, and one of them, the Cobra Dance, was very soothing, and it made me stop walking (she found out how to make me stop moving! D'oh!!!), and afterwards she would practice the can-can. I decided to mark the rhythm with my foot, and it helped her quite a bit. The can-can sounded much better after I did that.Then she tried putting on some Santana for me, and we both really liked it, and I continued to dance, move and mark the ryhthm - so she calls me the musical tortoise.Yesterday I was in the funeral march for Lightning the Frog. :( I miss him too even though I didn't get to meet him very well. :(R.I.P. R.I.P. Lightning the Frog :(Well, some of you may know a bit about Lightning. He was a frog brought back from Cádiz, my favourite frog, who half-liked to be stroked, and would sometimes behave a bit loopy. He was also a very pretty frog - he would change colours, and could camouflage itself. Sometimes, he'd be green, others light brown, and others, deep brown with spots. He also had this awesome phosphorescent green line on his back which gives him his name - Lighting.Anyway, yesterday, 10 to five I think it was, I came to feed it. I opened the lid to put in a cricket, and it suddenly hissed, went stiff and fell on its back. !!?!! I pulled it out, and its back legs slowly wobbled in a nasty way. It didn't seem to be PLAYING dead, it just seemed dead. I tried to give it a "cardial massage" (masaje cardíaco) with my finger, but no such luck. He was dead, and dead and dead. :(( I was pretty sad after that... Here are the last images of him: RIP my little friend!   The New Additions to the Pet Family - TerrapinHello all readers. I am a terrapin. I am only about one or two years old, and I was a departure present. That is what is so sweet about me. I do not know what gender I am (how pathetic can this be), but I believe I am a boy. I think I will find this out in the future, right now I am too small to figre it out. So much for my tiny little brain. Anyway, I have a 4cm (and now 1 mm!!) shell, so I am not awfully small, but I am not huge either. My shell is about the size of a mini, but I am longer than a Cho jinsei Enjoy if I poke my head out.My owner Inés is undecided on what to name me, she has many great ideas, but none great enough for a name. Therefore, I am STILL unnamed. Every day, (and night), I look forward to see her bending over me with a fingerful of shrimps. Always eager, I swim up to her, and bite the shrimps of hr fingers. They are nice, juicy and exquisite, and always abundant, so I can eat till I feel full. At night, I am often left out in the nice fresh air of the night. It is often a nice experience, since it isn't half as hot as it is indoors. Last night however I had a bit of a fright. I was left out in the night, and while everyone was asleep it began to pour with rain. I was getting scared since my feet would not reach the bottom of my tank, and the water level was getting higher and higher, and I was doing my best to paddle. Finally, at about quarter to eight in the morning, Inés appeared, and looked a bit shocked to see me in such a pathetic state. I looked up at her, pleading for help, and she immediately pulled off the tortuguera top, and tilted it to one side, so the water excess went. I was so relieved to feel the bottom again, and to be carried back into the flat in a better levelled tortuguera. Once I was in, I was fed again, so it is a story with a happy ending. :) I  my new owner, heehee.Blog of a Frog #2Ok guys, here I am again, several weeks later. Today I am particularly scraggy... It has been a whole week before Ive had anything to eat. My masters mother bought these adult crickets, but they were too flipping big. They are meant to be nymphs!!! So I am still hungry. Now they just sit there, drowning and doing nothing...Dont call me lazy, I have made attempts to eat them. I got a small nibble of antennae. Trouble is, they hop away, they are so dang massive! And the other frog is in competition with me. Anyway, these silly crickets end up in the water, and diving down... down... down... into death and drowning... So it means I need a different cricket box to be bought... Dorks... Cant you see I am a small frog? Im not a bullfrog, nor a tomatofrog, Im a minuscule frog. Well, maybe not like these frogs that sit on thumbnails, dont ask me how they eat! But I am small, and flies are too hard to catch. Moths are often put in, but moths are silly, and fly straight into the water. Not intersting. Im not eating stupid genes... Pity all insects are stupid, maybe thats why I can be a bit stupid at times. Oh well, you really want to hear this frog ranting on? Im hungry! Im off with typing! End of BlogFrog for today... Im HUNGRY!!! Blog of a Frog #1 Introduction to Frog's LifeWell, as you may see, I am a frog.I am about 2 or 3cm in length, and I am green in colour. I also have this black stripy line. I know I look bad quality here, but this is macro and nocturnal, as well as 8x zoom, so it isnt bad. Here I am about to eat my future lunch. Yum yum!  I was caught almost since birth by a nutty science teacher. I was only a tadpole then, with some mates, brothers, and sisters. I was the eldest and soon became a frog, while the others remained as tadpoles. Everyday, I sadly had to watch how my mates died in that awful stagnant water. But one Friday, my salvation came. Some human offered to look after me. I was going to be released, so I wasnt happy when I heard I was going to a new owner. I was expecting another load of weeks in a stagnant pond... However, I was fixed up in a larger tank, with my friends. I had some 'accidents' on the way to the petshop, and after several days of mucking about and switching stuff in my tank, it became very nice. Every now and then, moths or crickets would appear, and I would rapidly hop on them, and eat them. On another occasion, I ate my mate (I think). It was a scrawny frog. We all were, except me, because I got to eat everything. Im so greedy, lol. Anyway, it was there, small, doing nothing, and I had a rumbling stomach. I had no other thought than to leap and eat it. Frogs taste good. On other occasions I have tried to eat the other frog mate, but he has always managed to escape from my mouth... Here I am again: Can you see that think poking out of my mouth? Its a cricket antennae! I had just eaten! Crickets taste so good when they are nymphs... And smaller than you, hehehe. Im a frog with sense of humour right? BURP!!!  And that would be my introduction to my froglife! The PetBlog has JUST BEGUN!!! Entering... The PET BLOG!Well, I am now officially opening up a new category to my blog.I shall call it the pet blog. Why? Here I shall write the blog of my pets, from my pets eyes, from their point of view. As if they were writing it. My pets arent great pets like normal people have. Most people have dogs, cats, birds and fish. But I am keeping frogs and insects. In this blog, I shall probably put in soem care guides, observations, and pictures. All for readers to enjoy! LOL! |
