ï Thursday, November 15, 2007 - V4 & V4.5: Going to School Tutorial

Posted in Tips and Tricks
"How do you play the school game during the teen stage?  I don't understand the blinking gift boxes, and where the skill icon is located.  Is it random?"

It's interesting to note that this is one of the most asked questions in Tamagotchi forums. This is one of the simplest and easiest games to win in the V4 or V4.5, and it adds 3 or 4 points to one specific skill each time until it reaches the maximum limit (I believe it's 30 points).

Here to help me present in this tutorial is a young ura memetchi from V4.5.

Tamagotchi School

For this tutorial, I have created some screens simulating an actual school game.  The screens are done lovingly in MSPaint.  Then, I'll explain each screen step-by-step, detailing what has happened in each one.  I've numbered the screens so you can easily follow my explanation.  This way, you can understand what's happening in the game, and apply this in all your future school games with your tamagotchi.

To summarize the game, here's basically what happens:
1. The teacher hides the icon in the third box
2. There will be four box switches that will happen
3. You pick the box you think has the skill icon (not the poop) inside.

============

To set the stage for this tutorial, imagine that the screen of your tamagotchi is vertically longer so that you can see where the current location of the objects hidden inside the gift boxes.

Screen #1:
This is the screen where the teacher leaves your tamagotchi.  In this case, our young ura memetchi's teacher is Mr. Turtle due to the hidden humor icon.  The teacher always hides the icon in the right box at the start of the game, hence the humor icon (indicated above) is in the third box.  The other two boxes, left and middle, contain the tama poop.

Screen #2:
The middle and right boxes blink.  This means that the contents of the right and middle boxes are switched.

Screen #3:
Since the middle and right box blinked, the humor icon is now hidden in the second (middle) box.

Screen #4:
The left and right boxes blink.  This means that the contents of the left and right boxes are switched.

Screen #5:
Since the left and right box blinked, the humor icon did not move and is still hidden in the second (middle) box.  The left and right boxes only switched tama poops.  This happens often (switching two tama boxes with poops) and is just there to confuse you.

Screen #6:
Now, the left and middle boxes blink.  This means that the contents of the left and middle boxes are switched.

Screen #7:
Since the left and middle box blinked, the humor icon that was inside the middle box is now inside the left box.  The poop that was in the left box is now in the middle box.

Screen #8:
The middle and right boxes blink again.  This means that the contents of the right and middle boxes are switched.

Screen #9:
Another poop-switching!  There is no change in the location of the humor icon since it is in the left box.  The only boxes that blinked this time are the middle and right.

Screen #10:
The young ura memetchi picks the left box.  All three boxes blink at the same time signifying the grand reveal.

Screen #11:
The young ura memetchi picks correctly; the left box contains the humor icon.  She is happy that she receives four skill points in humor, and didn't get hit by poop.

============

To summarize, here are three things that you just need to keep in mind while playing this game:

1. The skill icon is always in the right (third) box at the start of the game.  The left and middle boxes contain tama poop.
2. Two boxes blinking means that their contents have switched with one another.
3. The skill icon may not change its location per box switch.  As seen in the example above, two boxes containing tama poops were switched, hence there was no change in the location of the humor skill icon.

I hope I made everything clear and easy to understand in this tutorial.  Please feel free to use the comments section for any  questions.
