Back then around December 2007, it was announced that a Tamagotchi anime series will air in Japan. Since then, Tamagotchi fans have been using Youtube as a medium for us not living in Japan to watch this crazily cute series.
Above is apparently episode # 8. The uploader, joepod, kindly gave the viewers an English summary so that fans like us who are not literate in Japanese can understand what is going on.
-Summary--------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mametchi was inviting everyone to go to the mall with him. Most other's readily accepted, but KuroMametchi coolly declined. Gozaruchi thought his actions were strange, but Makiko, Ringochi, and Young Mametchi marveled over how cool and smart he was (before quickly repremanding themselves, as card carrying members of the Mametchi fan club). Memetchi said that they were like rivals, but Mametchi just called KuroMametchi an important friend.
Next we cut to a scene with Ciaotchi merrily walking along, before being rudely accosted by Bankaratchi. She tries to get around him, but Bankaratchi cuts her off. Ciaotchi says "You won't let me pass?" Bankaratchi says "That seems to be the cas..." before being swiftly taken down from behind by KuroMametchi. Ciaotchi says thanks and walks away. As Bankaratchi tries to talk to Ciaotchi once more, KuroMametchi twists him down again, and a note with a heart and a picture of Ciaotchi on it falls down. Seeing that he has misread the situation, KuroMametchi picks up the note, runs after Ciaotchi, and hands her the note saying, "It's from him." KuroMametchi goes back to Bankaratchi and helps him, saying "Sorry about that." As Bankaratchi gets up, he notices that Ciaotchi is reading his love letter, and cries tears of joy. He tries to thank KuroMametchi, but like The Eagles, he's already gone.
The next morning at school, Bankaratchi is on his knees, passing a letter with a heart on it to Kuromametchi, and begging to let him call him "Aniki" (literally meaning "big brother", "Aniki" is also a yakuza term used for someone you admire and respect greatly). Makiko comments that KuroMametchi is popular with the boys as well as the girls, and the cartoon ends with a picture of a troubled KuroMametchi, and a happy Ciaotchi skipping into the room from behind. -Summary---------------------------------------------------------------------------
In my opinion, Mametchi still looks out-of-place in this game most likely due to its dull coloring compared to the big, bold, bright colors they used for the place and all the other characters. But hey, it's still Mametchi! It will bring a new audience to this game which will only benefit Namco Bandai and Nintendo.
Is it me or is the music in this stage sound like a background music in Tamatown?
Hope we see more Tamagotchi-related characters in other games. I won't mind him if Mametchi appears in a Super Smash Bros game. :)
Before we end 2007, let's go back 10 years ago and watch this zany music video by this Eurodance band from Denmark. I actually remember this music video by Daze.
It was regularly played across all radio stations and even MTV here in the Philippines at the peak of the tamagotchi's popularity back then in 1997.
I created a sudoku puzzle, but with Tamagotchi characters in place of the normal, boring numbers.
Sudoku is a logic-based placement puzzle. The objective is to fill a 9×9 grid so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3×3 boxes contains all tamagotchi characters, only one time each (that is, exclusively).
This puzzle version is a bit difficult as it requires simple but multiple-symbol logic.

I've always been interested in anagrams, so why not do a Tamagotchi themed series?
For those not familiar with anagrams, they are words or phrases spelled by rearranging the letters of another word or phrase. For example, if we have the word PERCUSSION, using the same letters, we can form the word SUPERSONIC.
So let me take a crack at these anagrams, tamagotchi-style. Hopefully, I could form some interesting ones. I'll also try to make sense the new word/phrase that will be formed.
1. TAMAGOTCHI
--- Anagram: I got a match!
--- Interesting. A matchmaker-themed anagram. After all, don't we tamagotchi users want our beloved little pets to find its mate eventually and continue its bloodline? My oldest V4 is in its 16th generation.
2. TAMAGOTCHI CONNECTION
--- Anagram: A concomitance tonight
--- Concomitance - Occurrence or existence together or in connection with one another. Very nice. It shows the connection aspect of the new versions of these tamagotchis. Seeing this, I might as well connect them tonight..
3. VERSION FOUR
--- Anagram: For souvenir
--- Give your children a souvenir, give them a tamagotchi!
4. TAMATOWN
--- Anagram: Tow an ATM
--- Maybe it alludes to Tamatown being like an ATM. You earn a lot of points in Tamatown. When your tamagotchi goes back home to your little egg-shaped home, you "withdraw" the points you have in Tamatown to your little gadget. Yeah, I know, it's a stretch.
5. TSUBUTCHI
--- Anagram: Shut it, cub!
--- This probably falls under the frustrated Tamagotchi owners league. Everyone knows how demanding a tamagotchi is in its baby stage. It poops a lot, cries, suddenly gets sick, hunger and happy hearts drop quickly. If you don't watch over it from time to time, you would see poop all over the screen, the little sick skull icon and crying because it needs praise. Shut it, young one! I have my own life here! Hahaha
