Apparently, the name glitch affects the Tamagotchi Connection V3 as well.  Two Tamagotchis logged in my blue V3 that came from my silver V3 have been affected by this random glitch commonly found in the V4s and V4.5 versions of the Tamagotchi.

Ginya, the Piroriroritchi had the first letter of her name altered.  The G turned into a black block similar to the cursor that you see when you are entering the tamagotchi's name.

The same thing happened to Angel, the Warusotchi.  However, during the course of Angel's time in my Tamagotchi (there were a lot of connections between my silver and blue v3 for mating purposes), her name reverted back to Angel causing a double post in the friend entries my blue V3.

The reason for this glitch is still unknown.  Luckily though, this doesn't affect gameplay in any way.  It's a harmless and probably a bit annoying glitch.  You don't want to be called Blockngel or Blockinya right?
