Here are actual screens of the Tamawalkie to show what can be done with this new Bandai creation.
Screen descriptions from left to right, starting from the top
1. Eating animation - Mametchi eating a piece of bread while travelling seaside.
2. Step counter - Total number of steps taken in real-time. Hey! I've taken already 51,219 steps!
3. States icon - the main screen containing all the stats (hunger, happy, steps, points)
4. Vehicle icon - the main screen to access your vehicles.
5. Fuel screen - shows how much fuel you have for your vehicle.
6, Treadmill game - Mametchi asking your help as he is about to fall off the treadmill. Mash those buttons or shake the Tamawalkie time!
7. Map screen - Mametchi is currently travelling from El Paso to Denver.
8. UFO Completion screen - Your tamagotchi's damaged UFO. It changes overtime as you collect UFO parts from different parts of the US.
9. Fishing game - Mametchi trying to catch some fish. Each fish has different point values.
10. Famous landmark screen - Mametchi visiting the Grand Canyon.
11. Food screen - Mametchi picks a pizza from his food bag.
12. Souvenir Screen - He has a helicopter, a souvenir he got when he visited the Grand Canyon.
13. Step/Distance Counter - Tracks down the number of your steps in real time. For every two steps, the distance decreases by one. Distance is the number from one city to the next city.
14. Journey screen - Mametchi stops for a while beside the sea. This is the screen you will often see. The scenery moves and changes as the Tamagotchi walks.
15. Famous landmark Screen - Mametchi visits a landmark in El Paso, Texas. Not sure what landmark it is though. |

ï Sunday, October 26, 2008 - Close-up Shots of the Tamawalkie in Different Angles
I took the liberty of taking photos of the Tamawalkie in all angles, so the Tamalovers around the world can see what they are getting in the future. It's also to show off the unique UFO-design and the hard plastic clip at the back.
Unfortunately, you cannot remove this clip from the back of the Tamawalkie. Those who plan to keep it in their pockets, or place it in a pencil case or something, the Tamawalkie is much bulkier than the average Tamagotchi.
Notice that there is no infrared plastic above the gadget. The Tamawalkie has no connection properties, so you cannot connect to other tamagotchis/tamawalkies. There is also no option to connect to a PC as well.

There are four games available for the Tamawalkie, the jump rope, timer, treadmill and fishing.
Jump Rope
This is the same game as those in the Tamagotchi Connection V4. A virtual rope is shown in the screen, and you have to time your button presses to make your Tamagotchi jump and avoid getting "hit" by the jump rope. The only difference it has with the V4s version is that you can make your Tamagotchi jump just by shaking the Tamawalkie.
Timer
Timer has two options under it. The Stopwatch function is not a game, but like the name suggests, it's a stopwatch. You can just use it to time things in real life. It doesn't do anything to the game.
The second option is the Countdown. This has a timer counting down. You must try to stop the clock once it hits 0.00 seconds to get the top prize.
Treadmill
Treadmill has your Tamagotchi running on a treadmill. When your Tamagotchi signals for help, you must press the buttons or shake your Tamawalkie rapidly to keep him from falling off the treadmill.
Fishing
A virtual hook and line is seen. Fishes come by one by one and swims around trying to trick you to raise the line earlier or later. You must need to time your button press or shake when the hook is located near the mouth of the fish in order to capture it. |

ï Monday, October 20, 2008 - Tamawalkie - Features
I'm sure many of you are curious about the Tamawalkie, so here are its features.
The one I have is in English, so I'm expecting that it will reach North America and worldwide soon. It's available in the Philippines for Php 899.75.
Story
The Tamagotchis are busy preparing for the Tama and Earth Expo. One day, a Tamagotchi went to Earth on errands for collecting the materials of the American pavilion, but due to a collision, the UFO carrying the Tamagotchi was destroyed. To finish the errands, he will need assistance from the Tamagotchis in America, collecting the UFO parts along the way.
Modes
- There are two modes, City and Journey.
- City Mode - This can only be accessible when all conditions are met. This happens when you've reached a city (distance is 0). You can shop for food or vehicles here, buy fuel or repair items.
- Journey Mode - see Travel Section
Controls
The buttons on the front behave exactly like most Tamagotchis, A - Select, B - Execute, C - Cancel.
Travel
- The more you walk, the more points you earn, the more items, food and vehicles you can buy.
- You can speed up the walking process by obtaining vehicles like the car or the skateboard.
- Your tamagotchi can travel in 25 cities of America and Canada like Boston, New York, Montreal and Toronto. When your Tamagotchi reaches a city, the tourist attractions found in the city will be displayed.
- The Map is divided into 4 sections. The city which your Tamagotchi starts in is random.
- There are also Items to be collected like souvenirs and UFO parts.
- During the trip, you can pass by shops like food shop and petrol station.
Characters
There are three characters available to choose, Mametchi, Memetchi and Kuchipatchi.
Games
- There are 4 games available --- Jumping Rope, Timer, Treadmill and Fishing.
Jobs
- There are 6 jobs available. 4 are available during the journey (Corn field, fruit farm, dairy farming, dig out fossils). The other 2 are available in the city (Clean the window, Wash the car). The jobs in the journey mode can only be accessed when a person asks you for help when walking in the street.
Other Features:
- It has a battery saving feature like the Pokemon Pikachu. The screen blanks out after a while.
- Instead of the clock, when you press the B button without selecting anything, it shows you the number of steps taken, the distance to the next city and the fuel gauge (for your vehicles). |
